ME Madrid Reina Victoria
Right in the center of Madrid, a short walk away from Puerta del Sol and the Golden Triangle of Art, and located in one of the most charming plazas in the city, Hotel ME Madrid is the latest initiative by the Sol Meliá group. Founded in 1923 as the Gran Hotel Reina Victoria, the historic hotel has seen a rich array of guests throughout its life, most notably bullfighters and cultural figures such as Ernest Hemingway. Today, the hotel is reborn as the new ME Madrid, an avant-garde hotel whose original façade doesn’t betray its completely refurbished interior, and which has since become an icon of contemporary design in the heart of traditional Madrid. It now boasts an eclectic décor, combining exclusive designer furniture with contemporary artwork and neutral colors, with lounge music creating an atmosphere that perfectly matches the hotel’s philosophy.
The in-house Ana la Santa restaurant, spearheaded by restauranteur Tomás Tarruella, offers guests an innovative twist on traditional recipes while its interior design aims to capture homely and familiar spaces and reconfigure them for a cosmopolitan blend of modern and approachable styles. As night falls, the hotel’s Radio ME Madrid Rooftop Bar comes to life, immersing guests in the historic architecture of the surrounding buildings while overlooking the beautiful Plaza de Santa Ana and giving a bird’s eye perspective to the bustling streets and alleyways below.
