Vienna City Hall
The neo-gothic building from 1883 located on the Rathausplatz, is the heart of Viennese political life. It is the seat of the Vienna Mayor and also an important place where public events are organized. It also houses a restaurant where you can taste some traditional Viennese dishes (e.g the Viennese Schnitzel or the Apple strudel). There is no entrance fee into the building and there are free guided tours being organized. During the Christmas period, there are Christmas markets situated in front of the City Hall. Usually, there is also a skating rink though it is often crowded. The whole area is lit up, beautifully decorated and the holiday atmosphere is ever-present.
